Reethi Beach Resort has announced its remarkable achievements at the 18th edition of the Hotel Asia 2024 Exhibition & International Culinary Challenge. This premier event within the Maldives’ hospitality sector took place on May 13, 14, and 15, 2024, at the Dharubaaruge Exhibition Hall, & Maldives National University in Malé (MNU). The event saw participation from over 800 culinary professionals across 21 categories, representing more than 300 local and international exhibitors in the food and hospitality industry.

Rubin Star Dennis secured silver medals in Hot Cooking – Lamb and Hot Cooking – Lobster. Meghna Dey won a silver medal in the Tea Challenge. Ahmed Areeb and Hassan Sameer each received a silver medal in Creative Table Décor.
Bronze medals were awarded to Binara Madushan Jayasinghe T.Y.G. for Hot Cooking – Beef and Hot Cooking – Fish Fillet, M.A.T.M. Fernando for Creative Salad and Hot Cooking – Lamb, Mangala Madusanka Weerasinghe for Desserts and Decorated Cake, and Madusha Priyadarshana for Iced Mocktail.shed by the Ministry of Finance last year, USD 1.7 billion is lost annually from islands allocated for tourism purposes due to development of the islands being stopped.
