Nika Island Resort se asocia con Avi Technologies para la energía solar

Nika Island Resort & Spa Maldivas has announced a partnership with Avi Technologies Pvt. Ltd. to install solar panels, marking a significant step towards sustainability. This initiative, known as the Nika Green Path, aims to reduce the resort’s carbon footprint and promote eco-friendly practices.

El complejo, famoso por sus lujosas comodidades y su compromiso con la cultura maldiva, cuenta con un museo que muestra el patrimonio local y una granja orgánica que ofrece productos frescos a sus huéspedes.

“Our unique architecture blends seamlessly with our cultural heritage. Incorporating solar energy is a major achievement,” said Shameem Mohamed, General Manager of Nika Island Resort & Spa. “This project aligns with the Nika Green Path initiatives. We encourage other resorts to adopt renewable energy to balance carbon emissions and promote sustainable tourism.”

The solar panel installation is expected to reduce the resort’s diesel consumption by 30%, significantly cutting carbon dioxide emissions. The project is slated for completion by the end of October 2024, ensuring the resort is ready for the high season.
