Reethi Beach Resort has announced its remarkable achievements at the 18th edition of the Hotel Asia 2024 Exhibition & International Culinary Challenge. This premier event within the Maldives\u2019 hospitality sector took place on May 13, 14, and 15, 2024, at the Dharubaaruge Exhibition Hall, & Maldives National University in Mal\u00e9 (MNU). The event saw participation from over 800 culinary professionals across 21 categories, representing more than 300 local and international exhibitors in the food and hospitality industry.<\/p>\n

In a display of exceptional culinary talent, the chefs from Reethi Beach Resort<\/strong><\/a> secured an impressive total of 17 medals across various categories. Sisira Kumara won gold medals in both Fruit & Vegetable Carving and Artistic Showpiece, and he was awarded the title of Best Artist.<\/p>\n

Anarul Sekh earned silver medals in Hot Cooking \u2013 Beef and Hot Cooking \u2013 Lamb. Sisira Kumara also received a silver medal in Bread & Pastry Display. Rubin Star Dennis secured silver medals in Hot Cooking \u2013 Lamb and Hot Cooking \u2013 Lobster. Meghna Dey won a silver medal in the Tea Challenge. Ahmed Areeb and Hassan Sameer each received a silver medal in Creative Table D\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n

Bronze medals were awarded to Binara Madushan Jayasinghe T.Y.G. for Hot Cooking \u2013 Beef and Hot Cooking \u2013 Fish Fillet, M.A.T.M. Fernando for Creative Salad and Hot Cooking \u2013 Lamb, Mangala Madusanka Weerasinghe for Desserts and Decorated Cake, and Madusha Priyadarshana for Iced Mocktail.shed by the Ministry of Finance last year, USD 1.7 billion is lost annually from islands allocated for tourism purposes due to development of the islands being stopped.<\/p>\n

Currently there are 170 resorts operating in the Maldives. Although the previous government also attempted to provide concessions for the unbuilt resorts, little progress was made to find a resolution.<\/p>\n
